NOTD-Orange & Gold Cheetah

8.31.2012

Hey guys! It's been quite a while since I did a NOTD where there's some design or pattern on it so today we have this orange-gold-cheetah inspired nail art! I didn't do this myself since I can't really do cheetah prints very well, my first few tries have been disasters! One of my oldest and best-est friends from Lahore did this! She's seriously soo amazing! Doing all sorts of nails with bunnies, carrots, starts and all that jazzy stuff!

So what do you guys think? Like the colors, the neatness etc? Let me know in the comments below :)

Until next time, tc.

OOTD-Pinks and Oranges!

8.28.2012

I think my favorite summer color combo has to be pink and orange! When combined I feel like they are the epitome of all things summery haha!

So basically what I did with this dress was use two different prints and put my own 'designer spin' on it to make it a bit different from my regular outfits. The orange piece of cloth is just some spare material that was lying around the house and instead of making it into dusting ka kapra (lol) I decided to incorporate it in this dress! What do you guys think?

Are the two bright colors two much or are they right up your alley? Let me know in the comments below :) I'm off to make some Garlic Chicken! Yummy for my tummy haha.

Until next time, tc :)

Review-Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

8.25.2012

I have normal-combination skin which tends to get oily in the summers, a powder to keep the shine at bay is a must for me and since Rimmel's Stay Matte seemed to be working for everybody, I decided to get on the bandwagon too and give it a go.

This powder has now become my staple piece for summer. I cannot go anywhere without it, literally. On my T-Zone it keeps the shine at bay for almost 4-5 hours which is good enough for me and I usually powder my face again after that amount of time. Now, my biggest concern was that re-applying the powder again and again might make me look cakey but that is not the case and is an added bonus. The shade I have is transparent but I feel like it does give me a tiny bit of coverage which I don't mind but may be a tad bit problematic for darker skin tones. All in all, this is something that every girl should have in the summers since it keeps the oily-ness at bay better than any other powder that I've tried. The only problem is the packaging, it's okay for keeping on your dressing table but I'm always afraid that the lid will come off in my makeup bag.

Price-PKR 600.

What are your favorite pressed powders for the summers? I HATE loose powders with a passion since they are soo incredibly messy!

Until next time, tc.

OOTD-A Hot & Humid Eid

8.23.2012

Hey guys! Quick post today! Here's my belated Eid OOTD, and I'm extremely sorry for the state of my clothing in these pictures! They are all soo wrinkly and creased but Eid as you all might know is really hectic so by the time I got to take these pictures my clothes weren't in the best of shape! I wanted to do a FOTD too but I didn't want to scare you guys off, I mean you can imagine what kind of a hot mess my face would be given the state of my clothes lol.

So this is what I wore for Eid. It was way to hot and humid to dress up in anything but lawn, do you guys agree? Some of you might remember this kurta from my birthday haul, and since my tailor decided not to stitch my clothes on time and run away from his shop I had to make do with something at home so this is what I chose as I hadn't gotten around to wearing it since July! The kurta in case any of you guys are interested is from Khaadi, it's part of their lawn collection and retails for PKR 2600. I'm a size 8 for reference.

How was your Eid? I barely got any eidi! Lol, is it just me or are people not too much into giving eidi these days? I don't wana sound all materialistic but giving and recieving eidi used to be a part of eid traditions and now it's vanishing, or maybe I'm just too old for eidi now lol. What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, tc.

Recent Empties # 1

8.18.2012

I have seen many YouTube videos and blog posts recently that center around the theme of Recent Empties where you show products that you've used up along with a mini review of them and whether you like them enough to repurchase it again. Here's my attempt at it :)

FACE STUFF-

1. OXY Blackhead Clearing Wash-This is basically a scrub and I loved using it! It really did keep my blemishes and un-wanted pimples along with un-sightly blackheads at bay and I'm gutted that it's finished since I got this as a present from someone who came from Malaysia and won't be able to get my hands on it here :(  I would definitely repurchase it if I saw it at my local drug stores.

2.St. Ives Daily Micro Dermabrasion-LOVE this stuff! The granules are really finely milled and are just the right texture, not too rough, not too gentle and it is hands down the best face scrub I've used for my oily skin. Beware though, if the scrub gets in your eyes somehow you will be crying for the entire night! ( I speak from experience ). Definitely repurchasing this! And it is soo much better than the St Ives Apricot Scrub in my opinion.

3. GNC Aloe Vera Skin Gel-Love this stuff as a moisturizer under my sun block in the summers! Cools the skin down like anything, extremely light weight and an intense moisturizer although it doesn't feel like it. This has a high percentage of natural Aloe Vera and that's always an added bonus for de-hydrated skin. I would probably purchase it again for next summers.

PERFUMES-

1.Versace Bright Crystal-A perfect light-weight fragrance for summers! Sweet and flowery, although it might not be too everyone's taste as it can be a bit too sweet at times. The lasting power is phenomenal. I really loved using it but I won't be repurchasing since I have other perfumes that I wanna finish.

2. Saeed Ghani Alcohol Free Oil Based Perfume in Femme (Hugo Boss)-I love the regular Femme by Hugo Boss. Probably one of my all time favorite scents, it is such a classic for young women so I was immediately drawn to this non-alcoholic version that was supposed to last an entire day. It really does! Just roll on some of it on your wrists and this will keep you smelling fresh for the entire day and since it's only PKR 300, I can't wait to try out other scents that they do! Seriously everyone go and grab one on my recommendation, you won't regret it!

LOTIONS AND POTIONS

1. The Body Shop Body Lotion in Watermelon Pasteque-Loved this for the summers since it's extremely light and easily sinks into the skin BUT I would absolutely hate it for the winters since it seems to be water based and is really runny. It won't be able to provide enough moisture for the winters and I won't repurchase it again since there are many other body lotions out there for half the price that do the same thing.

2. Vaseline Aloe Fresh Hydrating Body Lotion-Holy grail body lotion. I put it everywhere, on my body and on my face at night. The scent is fresh and clean and it provides the perfect amount of moisture. I have already re purchased a bottle since it ran out and I can see myself doing that for a while to come.

So what do you guys think of posts like this? Would you be interested? Even though it is kinda long. Let me know in the comments below :)

Review-Color Studio Professional Eye Inks

8.16.2012

Color Studio Professional is a brand that has been gaining quite a following recently and with their eye shadows been launched a while back I decided to give them a go and see how they work out for me.

Both the shades that I have are incredibly soft and pigmented when you touch them with your fingers. When using an eye shadow brush the color has to be applied a few times to gain intensity but that is the case for most eye shadows so that isn't really a problem for me. The finish for the two color is more shimmery than matte and instead of the traditional silver sparkles in eye shadows, these shades have a gold/copper-ish sparkles. They are fairly easy to blend with a bit of fallout that can easily be powdered away. I would recommend using a primer underneath these shadows since they last ages that way. For PKR 400, I'd say they are totally worth the money you pay and then some more.

There are alot of other shades available and I can't wait to get my hands on those.

00TD & FOTD-Facing The Blue's

8.14.2012

Hey guys! I'm sorry if I'm bombarding you guys with lots of outfits! Please let me know when I start going over board, it's just that I love posting OOTD's for you guys, I always get such a god response, but I don't wanna be an over-kill and over-do it haha. Anyways here's an outfit from when I went out with my friends a few days back. I usually don't accessorize with my outfits since it's soo incredibly hot and wearing any jewelery really annoys me but since it kinda was a special occasion I decided to put in a bit of effort :)

So what do you guys think? Even though you can't really see in the picture, I tried to do something different with my eye makeup and lined my lower lash line with a blue shadow to complement the dress etc. My bangs look SERIOUSLY long in this picture but I just went to the hair dresser today and now she's cut them too short! They're always in my face now and I can't tuck them behind my ear and that bothers me alot! Ugh, me no likey :( Anyways let me know your thoughts in the comments below :)

Until next time, tc.

Review-Luscious Single Eyeshadows

8.11.2012

I'm probably the last person in the Pakistani bloggers community who is reviewing this product, but you know what they say. Better late than never. I don't have many single eye shadows in my collection so these shadows serve to bridge that gap.

So I'm not going to bore you guys with too many details since the shadows have been reviewed time and again, and for good reasons. The shadows are incredibly soft and all five shades that I have are extremely pigmented from the first time you swipe your finger on them. Since these shadows are specifically formulated for Asian skin tones, I haven't had a problem with the colors not suiting me. Even though the lasting power of these eye shadows in great, they do crease after quite a while but that is something that can be fixed easily with any primer.

Blending these shadows is a dream and they feel kinda velvety to the touch. Most of the time I like to wear these eye shadows by sweeping one shade across my entire eye-lid which results in a subtle pop of color but nothing over the top.

Price-PKR 325 each

You can get these eye shadows in stores nationwide or by ordering online by clicking HERE! Another incentive for you to order from the Luscious website is that upon ordering products more than PKR 1000, you get two single eye shadows of your choice for free!

What are your favorite Luscious products?

Until next time, tc.

OOTD & FOTD-Yellow, Yellow Dirty Fellow

8.08.2012

Yellow, yellow dirty fellow..white, white Orbit white. Am I the only one who remembers this advert and quotes it every time I see someone wearing yellow? Might be, haha. Anyways given that the outfit below is per-dominantly yellow, it's only fair that I use the infamous line as my post title.

Excuse the incredible flash on my face! SPF 100 sun block + flash = ghostly face, but since I had no other decent picture of my face, I just decided to post this one. Everything I'm wearing is part of my everyday summer makeup routine which you can go through in detail by clicking here!

What do you guys think? Are you guys enjoying these OOTD & FOTD posts? I'd love to read your feedback in the comments below :)

Until next time, tc.

NOTD-piCture pOlish Antique

8.07.2012

Hello there everybody. So after my recent blog disaster where I completely lost my layout and had to make-do with a new one, I'm back! It was soo weird guys, even though I had all these pictures on my desktop and I knew exactly what I wanted to write about, I just couldn't do it until I fixed whatever I could of my template and design. Is that incredibly vain of me? Ugh, I dunno, kinda confused here :s So without further ado here are the swatches for what is hands down my favorite nail polish in the world! I've had it only for a couple of days but it was love at first sight :)

See was it was love at first sight? God! It's like 'me' in a bottle. It's purple and glittery, yet its subtle! This polish could do no wrong honestly, and the fact that it hasn't chipped on my nails for four days and was opaque in two coats only adds to its sheer greatness!

Last day to enter my giveaway here! And if you fancy having me on Twitter then don't forget to follow my by clicking here!

Until next time, tc!

Mini Haul-Bits and Bobs ( + a query )

8.02.2012

So I went to the chemist a while ago and needed to grab a few necessities, and even though they aren't the most exciting thing products, I decided to quickly post them in a mini-haul.

Here's a list along with prices of what I got-

1.Neutrogena Dry Touch Sun Block SPF 100-PKR 975
Even though there are people who don't like the Dry Touch range by Neutrogena, I like it and it hasn't ever oiled me up prematurely so this time I decided to go for the higest SPF available and buy the SPF 100 one.

2. St Ives Apricot Scrub-PKR 475
Even though I'm not the biggest fan of this scrub since I feel that the beads are kinda rough, a bought a huge tub of it so I can use it as a body exfoliator! I love it soo much as a body scrub even though this isn't the intended purpose! And buying the tub is much more economical than those little tubes!

3.Medora Nail Polish Remover-PKR 95

4.Rimmel Stay Matte Powder-PKR 600
I finally got this after hearing everyone rave about it constantly! I'll be putting my thoughts in a review soon!

5.Luscious Cosmetics BOLD Eye Pencil-PKR 250ish (not sure)
I had high expectations from this, sadly they weren't met. It smudges like crazy and isn't even that pigmented!

6. and 7. Random Face Brushes-PKR 250 each

So what have you guys been buying recently? Let me know in the comments below (:

Until next time, tc.

A LITTLE HELP- So guys, if you're regular readers of my blog you would know that the entire blog layout has changed drastically, to say that least. A couple of days back I tried to be all designer-ish and decided to change my blog layout but it didn't work out and I was left with a mess! In the end I couldn't do much apart from using a Blogger template for the time being. It's not that I don't like this template, it's just that it's not 'me' at all. If any of you guys have any recommendation to someone who could fix this or make me a new design I would be really grateful but the problem is that since I'm in Pakistan and don't have a PayPal account I won't be able to make the payment that way so that only leaves me with the option of using someone from Pakistan. Any recommendations guys? Thanks alot!

Mini-Haul-Color Studio Pakistan Haute Collection

8.01.2012

So it might come as a shock to some but these two Color Studio Polishes are the my first ones so far! I've always wanted to grab some since they're soo reasonable but never really did. Anyways, the nail polishes that caught my eye were from their latest Haute Collection and they have soo many brilliant shades! It was really hard or me to just walk away with two haha! Have a look at them below!

As you cans see the colors are fairly summery and I have to say that these polishes are very opaque and easy to use! I'll surely be featuring them in a NOTD soon! The polishes from the Color Studio Haute line are priced at PKR 350 ( I bought mine from Hayees), although online I've seen them for PKR 250! Weiird!

Anyways, click here to enter my giveaway and until next time, tc!
