Haul-American Haul # 2

1.26.2012

I always love it when one of my relatives or friends decide to take a trip to the US and are always bringing me back a bit of makeup or sweets etc (: Here's another haul for you of the things that I recently acquired. It's not much because I really don't want to be someone who has ounces and ounces of makeup and never uses it. Anywaysss I'd love to review any of the products for you guys so let me know what you guys want a review on. Without further ado-

I am extremely sorry for the flash glare that is pretty obvious in all the pictures. I'm in Lahore currently , came to meet up with some family and do a bit of shopping, though it's mostly clothes and very limited amount of makeup so I don't think you guys would be too interested in that.

As always, please leave a comment down below, it'll definitely make my day (:

I'll be back with a new post soon, until next time, tc.

P.s- Here's a link to American Haul # 1. Go check that out if you'd like.

What's in my bag?

1.20.2012

Being the nosy person that I am, I love looking into people's bags (although I don't do that in real life, it's just a YouTube and Blogger thing haha) and makeup collections etc. On the hopes that someone actually might be interested to look into my bag, I decided to do a post on it.

The bag that I carry is a tote-ish bag from Guess that my mum handed down to me when she decided she didn't want it anymore. Since this is my only 'designer' bag, for the lack of a better term, I lug it around with me everywhere.

I try to be as minimal as possible but more than often I don't succeed which is kinda obvious from the picture above.

1. Wallet (has all my cards, money, ID's in it). The Edward Cullen tin thing attached to it usually has a Soften ( anti allergy) and some NyQuil ( for headaches etc) in it in cases of emergency.

2. I Pod- CANNOT survive a day at university without it.

3.Sony PSP- My younger brother decided to hand this down to me because he was tired of it. I was flattered nonetheless haha. I've been addicted to Need For Speed and Loco Poco ever since :D

4. Makeup Bag- Usually has a chapstick, lipstick and blotting papers inside it for the times that I need to touch up.

5. 6. 7.-The Body Shop Lychee Blossom eau de toilette, mini Palmer's Shea Butter Formula for Dry Skin and a broken half toothed comb. (All these thing are usually stuffed inside my poor makeup bag, but for the purpose of making this post a bit interesting, I took them out.

I ALWAYS have my cell phone inside as well, but it was charging when I took the pictures so I kinda forgot about it :)

What do you guys keep in your bags? In case anyone's done a post on it, please link it down below and I'd love to go through it. As always, let me know what you guys think in the comments below.

Until next time, tc :)

OOTD-Dinner in the Cold

1.18.2012

WOW that was quite an innovative title, I'm sure I'm competing neck in neck with 5-year-olds when it comes to best blog titles haha. It's been FREEZING cold in the capital recently, with all the rains etc. It's a legit task for me to get out of bed every morning. I won't lie-there have been times when I've been tempted to take my blanket along with me to the washroom because I just can't let it go but eventually my saner side wins and I leave my blankie, on the bed, where's it's supposed to be. Here's an outfit of the day from when I went out with friends for some coffee etc. Nothing too fancy.

I didn't really notice before but I seem to blend in quite well with the curtains haha. Excuse the hair, I was half way done curling them properly but then the electricity went out and I just couldn't be bothered starting all over again when it came back on. Yup, I should get the lazy princess award right about now :)

As always, please let me know what you think in the comments below.

Thank you to my new subscriber and until next time, tc :)

NOTD-Black & Gold

1.17.2012

So it’s been a while since my last NOTD. I thought I’d get back on track with an extra special one (at least in my opinion lol). Once again, the technique I use is the dotting one. I took a gold nail polish as a base and then dotted on some regular black spots. Very simple to do but the result is definitely something. Please excuse the scratch kind of thing on my nails. I have a habit of applying nail polish and then falling asleep. When I wake up, scratches and cuts are splashed all over my hard work. Sniff sniff.

What do you guys think? Like it? Please leave a comment down below to voice your opinions. Reading the comments below always makes me try to work harder on my blog.
Until next time, tc :)

Haul-Hello 2012!

1.09.2012

So this is basically two small hauls that I combined together so I could give you guys a decent sized one. Fairly basic purchases, out of which the lipstick and eyeliner was a must! I actually went out to repurchase Luscious Cosmetics Lipstick in Dreams, for the 15,679th time, which is more or less the perfect natural color for me to wear absolutely anywhere, but sadly, it wasn’t in stock so I decided to take the plunge and actually get other colors. The felt tip liquid liner was an absolute necessity since I’m literally scrapping off the Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eye Liner that I have. It was high time to purchase a new one so I decided to get something that I haven’t tried before and put up a review, sooner or later.

4U2 DFY9 Dip Liner- Rs. 575
Luscious Cosmetics Lipstick in Creamy Rose & Just Peachy- Rs. 540 each

You guys might be able to tell that I’ve been getting more and more into nail polishes, if this collosal haul is any indication, and  just couldn’t resist getting these two colors which by Sweet Touch which is becoming a fast favorite as a nail polish brand in my books. I’ve been meaning to try out the Revlon Matte Lipsticks and I finally got myself one. For some reason, the lipstick seems a bit shady. I really don’t believe they’re actually from Revlon; a Pakistani Revlon perhaps? You never know these days! :s

Sweet Touch Nail Polish in Turquoise Deep and Blue Moon- Rs. 90
Revlon Plus Matte Lipstick in Shade 273- Rs. 175

Hope you guys enjoyed this mini haul. Please take a minute to comment down below, it makes by day :)

Until next time, tc

P.S-OMG girls, have the Luscious people actually increased their lipstick prices from Rs.440 to Rs.540 or is Shaheen Chemist just ripping me off? It’ll be a real bummer incase the prices have actually been increased because the quantity or the quality of the lipsticks are pretty much the same.

Review-Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Lip Balm

1.07.2012

During the winters, most of the girls I know go crazy and sometimes even over board with their moisturization of the skin. Skin looks and feels the best when it’s moisturized, but what an over whelming amount of girls forget is that the same rule applies to the lips as well. Moisturize well and you’ll get great looking and feeling lips, don’t moisturize and you’ll see you lips turn dark, dry and extremely chapped, which is quite unattractive!

This is where Palmer’s Moisturizing Lip Balm which has a Cocoa Butter Formula along with Vitamin E comes in.  This balm smells divine! There is nothing better than this product out there when it comes to living up to its claims of preventing cracked and chapped lips.

The best part about this balm and what sets it apart from other balms or chap sticks is that it has the added benefit of SPF 15. Although I know that for the temperatures in Pakistan (especially in the summers), such a little amount of SPF doesn’t cover all the skin protection necessities, but something is always better than nothing.

The Vitamin E present in it definitely does its job. This balm isn’t overly greasy or heavy and doesn’t leave a tint. It goes and stays on clear, although the yum smell does tempt every now and then to just lick it off and have a taste haha.

You get a decent amount of product as is visible in the picture, and honestly for the price, that is Rs.110, I see no flaws in the product. Have any of you guys tried out this lip balm and loved it as much as I do? Please let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, tc : )

Review-Sweet Touch Kajal Eye Pencil

1.05.2012

I have been loving Sweet Touch nail polishes since I started buying them, and it is rare than any of the nail polishes that I own from the brand have left me with any complaint. Since I was greatly satisfied with one of their products, I decided to go for another one which was their Kajal Eye Pencil in Black.

The packaging is atypical of the packaging of almost all other pencil out there, except the pencil itself seems to be made from a different kind of wood. It’s considerably smoother than the other pencils, almost plastic-y in feeling, and it is extremely easy to sharp! It is definitely the creamiest and softest eye pencil that has made way into my makeup bag.

This creaminess could actually end up being a problem in the summers though because I’ve noticed that it does tend to bleed after a while, even in the winters. This may be because of the ultra-creamy pencil. I use the word bleed instead of smudge, because just like darker colored lipsticks bleed, this pencil does too upon application on both the upper and lower lash line. Since it is written on the pencil that it was only to be used externally and not inside the eye, I haven’t tight lined my eye using this, therefore I can’t really say anything about whether it stings upon contact with the eye. Other than that, I have had no itching or stinging when I apply this on my lash lines.

If we talk about staying power then this pencil stays on for a good 2-4 hours before it starts fading and getting lighter. This really isn’t much of a problem for me since I just swipe the pencil again, and it’s as easy as that. I get the best application out of this product when I use it with an eye primer. The pencil doesn’t smudge, fade, or even bleed if used with a primer for a good 4-5 hours.

When it comes to the removal of the product, I use only a baby wipe to clean it off and it goes off easily without leaving a dark tint behind. If used with a primer, it becomes a bit harder to take off, but that’s because of the primer doing its job and not the pencil.

So basically, this pencil would be an excellent choice for those who need an eye pencil that won’t smudge or irritate them for around 2-3 hours, but a little bit of cleaning up and re-application would be required after that. In case you prime your eyes, then you apply this eye pencil once a day and you’re good to go for a strong 4-5 hours. At a retail price of Rs.240, the Sweet Touch Kajal Eye Pencil should be given a chance by anyone who’s looking out for a new eye liner.
