Atiqa Odho Eye Shadows - Review + Swatches

5.29.2015

I remember the first time I came across Atiqa Odho cosmetics, it was way back in 2009 when I was attending a Senior Year Farewell for my A Levels. At the time, I had not been consumed with the need to buy and lust after every makeup release so the shop keeper handed me a silver eye shadow pigment by Atiqa Odho when I ask him to give me something 'shiny' and 'easy to apply'. While the silver pigment did come in handy that night, I forgot about the pigment and Atiqa Odho cosmetics until very recently when they started marketing their brand on Facebook once again.

Fast forward a few weeks and I got the chance to try out some of their single eye shadows that at PKR 250 each are quite the bargain, but are they worth even that? I'd say yes and more! First off, while the red packaging is not the most appealing, every single eyeshadow, blush, powder etc comes with it's very own mirror and applicator! I love this, seriously! While I chose to use my own brushes, the mirrors do come in handy and double thumbs up for that.

Coming on to the quality - what I have deduced is that with the Atiqa Odho eyeshadows*, the quality depends on the shades. Love Potion has, no lie, become my go to eyeshadow for a sheer wash of color on the lids - compliments the everyday-minimal-makeup look so very well! It glides on when applied with fingers and lasts a solid 5 hour mark without a primer so I'm very impressed with it! The same goes for the shades Queen Of Night & Breathless -while I don't reach for them as often as Love Potion - they are also of the same quality.

The trouble starts with Blue Poppy which is just way to powder-y and not as satin-y as the others. The finish feel rough and overall is not the easiest eye shadow to work with - I'd give this one a pass if I were you.

All in all, as soon as I run out of Love Potion, I'm getting another one since it's that great! One very important tip is to use your fingers with these eye shadows, they are definetly on the powder-y side so using brushes to pack them on will just leave your frustrated. Fingers work so well with these.

Mango Spring/Summer Collection 2015

Mango recently launched their new Spring/Summer 2015 collection at the Centaurus Mall Islamabad, with a plethora of socialites and had the Spanish Ambassador as the guest of honor. Here are a few highlights of what happened at the event :)

Fatemah, Sana (Sana's daughter & me)

The super friendly Mango staff!

The evening began with a fashion presentation by MANGO. Women and young socialites were invited to join the competition ‘Outfit of the Day’ where they dressed up in a glam outfit, selected from the MANGO store in the lowest possible budget.

This season MANGO is all about the 70’s; approaching romanticism, bohemian and carefree style through the black, brown and white lines. On the other hand, the most energetic part of the collection is expressed via the pinks, reds, blues and greens, adding a touch of fantasy to knitwear fabrics with compact stripes and amusing prints.

“In Pakistan we have 3 MANGO stores one in each metro city (Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad) and we are looking to expand the number of outlets as well as bringing in a Mango Man Collection,” said Abid Umer - CEO MANGO (Pakistan).

MANGO is a concept based on an alliance between a quality product with an original design and a coherent and unified brand image. The brand specializes in dressing the urban/modern woman and meeting her daily needs.

Mystery Beauty Bag

5.03.2015

Since I finalized my holiday plans for summer 2015 (I'm going to the States!!!) I have been more focused on saving money for shopping sprees over there instead of paying double, triple the amount for the very same products over here. While I haven't slipped up too much, I decided to go for a mystery bag for Sehrish Rashid where I would have to pay PKR 1500 and get a couple of deluxe or full sized products! Here's what I got -

-A deluxe sied Lancome lip gelee
-Full size Wet n Wild lipstick in Red Velvet
-Deluxe sized Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes pencil
-Deluxe sized Ouidad humidity control gel

I'm very happy with the products, I love Wet n Wild lipstiks and have quite a few, so was verry happy to get this in my set! The rest of the items, I've never tried before but I'm excited to! The entire thing took exactly three days! I ordered on Day 1, made the payment on Day 2 and on Day 3 the package was delivered - super prompt services :)

What do you guys think of mystery packages? Is it something you would like?
