Haul-Summer 2013 Haul (Part 2)

7.20.2013

So this is part two of my summer haul which you guys can view by clicking right here! I'm going through a major lip and cheek product phase so that is the main focus in this haul with a few tid bits added here and there!

Here's the complete haul, with some powders, lip products by Revlon, who are churning incredible releases, one after the other. The mascara was a repurchase and the NYX blushers were a first.

Here's a close up of the lip products. Since I had tried and liked the Lip Butter in Lollipop alot, I decided to get an extra for a friend and another shade, which was much more of an everyday shade, Sweet Tart. The other two lip products are fairly new releases by Revlon, and in a nut shell, they're SUPER long wearing liquid lipsticks! Review coming soon :)

The Maybelline powder was once again, a repurchase! Love this for setting my makeup. I was initially going to purchase Revlon Mousse Foundation, upon a fellow bloggers recommendation, but on the last minute decided to get the mineral foundation. The NYX blushes were a first time purchase and boy, do I wanna buy some more! Full on reviews will be up soon :)

Revlon Color Stay Over Time-$10.99

OOTD-Bright & Sunny

7.18.2013

It's definitely been a while since my last outfit post, kinda almost forgot the drill haha. That along with this humidity, dear God, no one wants to be outside posing in that haha. But here's what I have for you guys now. This super summery, sunny yellow kurta was a present from a friend on my birthday, and I thought I'd get over my reluctance to wear super bright colors and wear this.

As always, I paired it with my trusty white tights. These one are from Generation, and they are holding up really well given I wear then literally all the time haha.

For the face, I tried to keep it natural and glowing and I think the combination of the Garnier BB Cream along with Benefits High Beam really did the job well. Can you guys see a bit more radiance on my face? Or is it just me imagining things haha. Excuse the half wet-half dry hair ladies, had an iftari to go to so was in quite a hurry haha.

Since I was stepping out of my comfort zone, I thought I'd don some yellow on my feet too. This lovely pair of flats are super cool with their gold spikes which I adore. I tried to be all arts-y with the shots, changing the location and everything? Like what you guys see? Let me know in the comments below :)

Until next time, tc.

Store Review- Daraz.pk

7.09.2013

Daraz.pk is a huge website that literally has everything and anything. You will be browsing stuff for hours over there, from clothes to shoes to designer items to beauty products, everything you want is there.

I decided to opt for some really pretty Nadiya Kasaam sandals which had spikes on them! Not really my everyday cup of tea, but they looked really fun to wear so I ordered them. The checkout process was super simple and user friendly and I had no issues there. Now what I did there out of my sheer carelessness was, type my address wrong! I mean, who does that? Haha, but there was no need to panick since a very well-spoken Daraz representative called me to confirm my details and purchases and was kind enough to resolve my address issue aswell.

By the representative, I was told that it would be taking 3-5 working days for my order to arrive, and guess what it did? The day after! I mean all the way from Karachi to Islamabad! That was definitely impressive since I hate waiting for tiny little parcels that take ages to come and here this huge shoes delivery took only a day. Thumbs up for that!

Since Daraz.pk have their own courier services, they are much more reliable and you have a 7-day-return policy as well! So if something isn't your size or not what you ordered, you can always return it. Personally I didn't have to since I loved the shoes and although it was hard to tell what my size would be online, there was a really helpful chart in the shoe section of Daraz.pk that aided me in my quest to find my perfect shoe size online haha!.

Over all, I've definitely had a lovely experience with the website, and some of the people who have been in contact since they're always willing to help and their super fast shipping is a bonus too. Be it jewellery, or sports gear or designer stuff you're looking for, I'd say give Daraz.pk a chance, you won't regret it :)

Have you shopped from Daraz.pk? Let me know in the comments below :)

Until next time, tc.

Summer Shower Favourites!

7.04.2013

For people not living in Pakistan, summer is the season for fun, days at the beach and long walks in the parks. Not here in Pakistan. In Pakistan, it's all about humidity, heat and mosquitoes and taking showers at least 3 or more times a day. So when you're spending that much time in the shower, might as well make it a pleasant experience.

Here are all my favorite shower products for the summers since they smell just soo good and remind me that somewhere summers are all about lying in the grass with the sun out and reading a book while sipping on lemonade, without the fear of getting dehydrated and suffering from a heat stroke :)

For my shampoo I use Schwarzkopf's Repair and Care Coconut shampoo and it obviously smells like fresh coconuts. Reminds me of Pina Coladas and paired with Tresemme's 24 Volume Conditioner that has a faint refreshing smell, it is just the fruity kick that I need to reinvigorate myself in the shower.

After we're done with the hair, we move on the the body and I like to wash myself with The Body Shops Fuzzy Peach Bath and Shower Gel that smells like a fizzy drink that I just can't put my finger one. As expected, the scent and the color both set you in a happy mood. On days that I feel that my skin needs a little something extra, once again The Body Shop comes to save the day with its Lemon Body Scrub which doesn't exactly smell of lemons but it is a great exfoliating scrub that gets the job done.

Now that we're almost  out of the shower, lets talk about my current favorite light weight, easily absorbing moisturizers. The first one is by Victorias Secret in their infamous Love Spell scent that is a classic for very good reasons with it's notes of amber and Japanese Cherry Blossom, ahhh! If you're a fan of sweet scents then this ones for you but in case you want something more fruity then O M G, Body Shop's Sastuma Body Butter is everything! It is the most refreshing scent that I have ever come across, seriously you must go and sniff it once, it is by far my favorite Body Shop scent and trust me I love their Strawberry one, but this is just on a whole new level. Amaazzzing!

So there are all the products that help me forget about the heat and make me smell like a fruit salad, in a good way haha! What are your favorite summer scents? Let me know in the comments below :)

Until next time, tc.

Review- Rimmel Apocalips in Apocalypitic

7.02.2013

Rimmel Apocalips, what can I say? They came and conquered. Initially I was a bit hesitant about these just because they were soo hyped up, I have this weird thing where if something is too hyped up then I'll just get annoyed with everyone constantly talking abut it. Where these were concerned the hype was annoying, BUT it was soo right!

Since there are a gajillion reviews of this stuff everywhere and beyond, I'll try to keep this short and sweet.

Packaging- The product really has pretty packaging, the jaggered edges of the applicator make it stand out among my normal rounded lip products and I love that the writing hasn't rubbed off, I hate when that happens.  Seems vain haha, but I like to take care of my makeup and like for it to look good.

Application/Formula/Pigmentation- Now if you have one of these, you will know how freakin pigmented they are. A little goes a super long way and since the applicator has a little wedge in it which stores the product, you don't have to constantly dip the applicator in the tube. I only need one dip for my entire lip to be coated with this stuff and there will still be product left on the applicator. That is how pigmented this stuff is haha. The formula is somewhat of a hybrid between a lipstick and lip gloss.

Staying Power- Now these things stay, and they stay on for long! You will not have to worry about reapplying this for a good 6-7 hours, including mild eating and everything. Rimmel should totally market these as lip stains as well since those are all the rage these days. I personally don't like glossy finishes on any of my lip products and this one does have a glossy finish, so what I do is blot it with a tissue. What this does is tone down the color a bit and gives a lovely matte finish that I absolutely adore!

All in all, apocaliptic is a look-at-my-lips-they're-so-bright-and-lovely kinda shade that lasts eons and doesn't feather or bleed. Just be careful while application, and tone it down by blotting if you prefer matte finishes over glossy ones.

Price- PKR 975

What bright lip products should I go for next? Please suggest some shades in the comments below :)

Until next time, tc.
