What's on my face? # 2

1.29.2013

Well hello there everybody! Another what's on my face post today for you guys. Since I'm on my semester break I get the time to do these kinda post alot more often, I went for a green smokey eye today. I love using green on my eyes since I feel like it gives brown eyes a bit more definition and makes them pop more haha.

This time around I started off with slapping on  tiny bits of Loreal's True Match foundation on my forehead and cheeks followed by my ever trusty Rimmel's Match Perfection concealer, not pictured. I tried to give my cheeks a rosy blush by dabbing some of Maybelline's Dream Mousse blush with my fingers and filled in my pretty sparse eyebrows using Rimmels Eyebrow Pencil which is almost coming to an end. For my super green eyeshadow that literally lasted throughout the day without creasing and only minimal fading, I used Miss Sporty's Eyeliner in the shade Eucalyptus as a green base and followed it by Ulta's green eyeshadow from this mini-quad. A bit of the crease color from the Walking on eggshells Wet n Wild was used to soften the edge of the green eyeshadow and the highlight shade to highlight, obviously haha, and use in the inner corner. A few coats of UNE' s mascara and Essence's liquid liner wrapped up the look along with Just Peachy by Luscious Cosmetics on the lips.

So what do you guyss think? Is colored eye shadow your cup of tea or would you stick to neutrals? Let me know in the comments below :)

Until next time, tc.

What's on my face? #1

1.23.2013

I've seen quite a few of these What's on my face posts floating around so I thought I'd jump on the band wagon and take part. Although I doubt I'd be able to do these posts every week I'll try to maybe do these every other Sunday.

So for my foundation today I used a bit of Maybelline's Fit Me foundation (review here) on the cheek area followed by Rimmel's Match Perfection concealer (review here) to brighten up those nasty under eye circles. To keep my makeup lasting all day I dusted a bit of Ulta Mineral's loose powder followed by MUA's blush in Shade 4 on the cheeks. After moisturizing my lips well I used BeCute's shade 314, a dark burgundy color on the lips (review here). For my eyes, I made used of Costal Scents 88 shimmer palettes bottom two shades on the left side. Essence's liquid liner and quite a few coats of UNE's mascara complete the look.

What do you guys think? Like the look? I tried going for a bit of bronze on the eyes with the vampy lips to keep in trend with this season. Is this a look you'd go for? Let me know in the comments below :)

Until next time, tc.

What's In My Shower?

1.18.2013

Well hello there everybody! I've been trying to be productive recently and the result of that is you guys have been getting more blog posts! Yaay? Haha. I'm a nosy person by nature, I was always the kid (still am?) who peeked into ladies purses and makeup bags, there was always this itch to see what treasures they had in there haha. So I thought I'd give my fellow nosy readers a tour on whats in my shower. This post doesn't feature any hair products or my complete skin care routine, those'll be in a separate post soon :)

Now as you may be able to tell I'm a fan of The Body Shop when it comes to shower gels and scrubs along with a lonely Nivea one. Sometimes I like to use the St Ives Apricot Scrub as a body scrub rather than a face one since it can be a bit harsh there! Works well enough for my body though. When it comes to masks, I have two mud masks from Superdrug and a peel-off one that smells yumm-ayy!  Other than that two deodrants, both by Dove are always present along with a Vince night cream that I really need to finish up. Since I'm as graceful as a swan (not!) and super prone to cuts and bruises, I keep a bottle of Bactine as a disinfectant handy and it comes in use more time than I'd like to admit! A tube of Veet and some Vitamin E oil pills stay tucked in at the back and that's about it guys. Nothing too fancy, just some basics.

Hope you guys liked this post, are you as nosy as me? Would you like to see more of these posts in the future? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, tc.

Hello Vamps & Reds

1.15.2013

Red and dark vampy lippies really aren't my thing. I like the more au naturale look and when you're rocking a red lip, thats kinda hard to manage haha. But change is good and I kinda like to switch things up every now and then and end up reaching for these two tubes of awesomeness!

1. Rimmels Lasting Finish Lipstick in Alarm 170- More of a bright but classic red with excellent pigmentation. It doesn't require many coats, apply a single layer and you're good to go! Alarm doesn't feather or bleed, can be blotted and turned into a lovely bright stain that brightens up the complexion. This lippie applies like a dream and has a good staying power, 3-4 hours easily I'd say with a semi-matte finish.

2. Maybelline's Moisture Extreme Lipstick in Real Raisin 230-Absolutely divine color with a semi-matte finish, what you see in the tube is the color you get on your lips. Suits my Asian skin tone really well and I can see it working for both color and warmer toned skins. The texture is extremely soft and moisturizing but this doesn't end up bleeding or feathering. The lasting power is that of a typical lipstick but it fades wonderfully after you've had food/drinks so there isn't a need for constant touch ups.

In the picture above I'm wearing a single coat of Real Raisin. How amazing is that! Both these lippies are easily available in Pakistan and internationally, so if you want some great reds for a bargain, I'd recommend these highly!

Price-
PKR 750-850

Review-Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

1.14.2013

The Maybelline Fit Me range hit stores sometime last year and I got to try out two of the products one being this foundation and the other being their compact, which was a lovely product, completely used up now though haha. The packing for this collection by Maybelline in my opinion is pretty great for a drugstore brand, the glass bottle foundation, two story compact with a mirror and a use-able soft puff definitely gets thumbs up from me! I can't wait to get my hands on their concealer and blush, which are the other two products from the range.

As mentioned above, the packaging is pretty great looking but it does lose some point since there is no pump! I know thats a big no-no for many people out there, but the product makes up and more for this little con. The shade range is absolutely amazing, and everyone would be able to find something that fits them from the palest of pales to darker beauties.

When applied this foundation gives you a dewy but matte finish if that even makes sense. Not completely matte but not completely dewy either. I do believe that this will cater to tastes of both, matte and dewy lovers since its somewhere in between haha. The lasting power of this foundation is amazzingg! It will last you ages, ages meaning 8-10 hours with minimal touch ups! For a drugstore foundation, I'm incredibly impressed. Now coming on to the coverage, once again, a-maaaz-ing! This is definitely a medium to full coverage opinion and leaves you look pretty flawless, without looking cakey.Shade 245 is a perfect match for my skin tone, it has yellow undertones so that really cancels out any redness and leaves my skin looking super healthy too.

The foundation doesn't have any oils in it so it will work well in summers as well, but it isn't drying during the winters aswell. the SPF 18 that it has makes it ideal for every day use without being obvious at all on your skin! Fit Me foundation is definetly something that Nayab loves haha.

Why Nayab loves it-
1. No oils and extra stuff that clog pores.
2. Excellent coverage, but extremely light weight.
3. SPF 18! SPF is always great.
4. Long lasting! 8-10 hours.

Price-
$7-8
