Rimmel London Color Rush Eyeshadows

4.30.2012

I'm not really someone who puts on eye shadow on a daily basis and even when I do, more often than not it is a neutral color that doesn't even show up. So to broaden my horizons or whatever, I picked up this little duo from Rimmel in the shade 650 Embrace.

The colors aren't normally what one would wear on a daily basis, at least not me, but since they are very sheer you can really make them work.  Both the shades are soft but not opaque. They give a sheer wash of color and are prone to a bit of fallout, nothing you can't sweep away though. The first is a really pretty baby blue that brings out the brown in my eyes and although the second shade seems like a pastel-y yellow, it turns up to be almost gold on the eye-lid. The packaging is typical Rimmel, nothing special but it is fairly sturdy and for Rs. 180 I can't really complain about the color pay off or the packaging.

Have you guys tried this due from Rimmel? Do you guys wear eye-shadows on a daily basis? Let me know in the comments below :)

Until next time, tc.

My Top 5 Spring/Summer Nail Varnishes/Polishes

4.19.2012

I've seen literally (actually not literally) but quiiiite alot of these My Top 5 Spring/Summer Varnishes kinda posts and videos on Blogger and YouTube so I was like 'Why should I not do it?'. This post is the result of that little one-liner motivational speech. So are you guys ready? For the awesome-ness that my top nail polish picks are?!

Here they are! Sorry for my extra dry hands ugh! No idea they'd look thaaat bad in pictures :( hmph. I haven't gone for completely pastel colors, or intensely bright ones. I think I've managed quite an okay bunch with some pastels, a bright color and some typical springy colors.

Below are a few closeups and individually swatch-d fingers for you lovelies :)

In case anyone's wondering about the names, here they are-

1.Sweet Touch-Turquoise Deep (PKR90)
2.The Face Shop-BR 806
3.Sweet Touch-Pistachio (PKR90)
4.Luscious Cosmetics-Purple Rain (PKR275)
5.Ulta-The Jungle Look

My apologies since you cant the green in the last pictures is blurry. The camera just decided to focus on the green grass instead of the green polish gahh!

Anyways, did you like my picks? Or the greenery behind them? Had to suffer through countless mosquito bites to take these. Let me know in the comments below :)

Until next time, tc.

NOTD-Purple Rain (Potential OPI Dupe)

4.17.2012

I've never been this excited about a post! I finnnalyyy discovered a dupe for something. I feel like I'm a real beauty blogger now haha. I was going through something or the other on Google images when I saw a swatch of OPI's Rumple's Wiggin and I thought to myself 'Where have you seen this before Nayab?'. I brainstormed the crap out of my brain and then it clicked. Luscious Cosmetics Purple Rain! This is particularly good news for Pakistani girls since Luscious is one of the few brands that is easily and readily available everywhere! Yipppe! Extra points to me for that. Haha.

Don't trust me? Click here to see the gazillions of swatches in all different types of lighting! I wanted to edit and put up a picture of Rumple's Wiggin alongside Purple Rain but it didn't feel right to me to use someone else's pictures without permission. Anywaysss what do you guys think? Dupe or no dupe? Let me know in the comments below :)

Luscious Cosmetics Purple Rain retails for PKR 275.

ULTA Haulin'

4.15.2012

So a while back ULTA had this offer going around on their website that if you were to make a purchase of $17.50 worth of ULTA brand products then you'd get an ULTA goody bag for free which has a worth of $88! Since someone I knew was travelling to the States, I kindly asked them to bring back some stuff which would qualify me for the gift bag offer :)

So what I purchased to qualify for the offer was..

Now for the goody bag! There were three options to choose from, which would give you three different types of bags, I chose Paradise Bloom.

Pretty pretty packaging!

So these are the contents of the bag. Most of the products are sample sizes except for the mascara which is a full version! I'm glad :) One can never have enough mascaras lol.

The eye pencils that I got were in alllll different shades but black :( So I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of these. The eye shadows are pretty great quality, but these have a whooole lot of fall-out ugh!

The double sided lip gloss is pretty nifty to throw in your purse for on the go but the color of the lipstick was ughh! Post on that in a bit. So far I've been dissapointed even with the mascara since it does nothing for my flimsy, barely-there lashes :( I was previously using Maybelline's Falsies and this is nothing in comparison to the greatness that THAT mascara is!

The brushes seem to be okay-ish quality on first glance. The mini blush in Flush is my new favorite blush and the nail varnish sample of The Jungle Look is a shade I don't previously have and I've been enjoying wearing it.

Here's a close up of those beautiful eye-shadows. I could review these if you want :) Can you see me being all photographer-like in the little mirrors? Hehe.

So all in all, I feel like the products weren't the greatest in the goody bag. The eye shadows, blush and varnish are the only things I can for-see reaching out for regularly. Although the other ULTA stuff that I ordered myself and wasn't in the goody-bag is of ahhh-mazinnng quality! Wish they put some of that stuff in the goody bag. Oh well.

What do you guys think of these free goody bag offers in general? Do you think there are actually good products inside or just duds? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, tc.

Review-Forever 21's Love and Beauty Trio in Bronze

4.07.2012

I’m pretty sure that Forever 21 is a brand that everyone links with clothes and accessories for girls and guys at affordable rates, and not with makeup. It’s been a while since Forever 21 introduced their make line; Love & Beauty and I got my hands on one of their eye shadow trio’s a while back, namely Bronze.

The packaging is fairly girly but study at the same time. Most of the time I find that if you pay less for your makeup, especially something under $5, then you don’t get the sturdiest packaging. This was definitely not the case here, and along with a good quality exterior, you get a huge mirror in it too which is perfect for touchups.

The eye shadows themselves would fall into the nude-smokey category and you get quite a lot of eye shadow for each color. The first one is my favorite, which is perfect for just a little color on your eye-lids for everyday use. This color would probably turn out to be a bit more bronze-y n fairer complexions, but it works beautifully on my olive-toned skin.

All of the three eye shadows have excellent pigmentation and barely any fallout. The eye shadows are soft, opaque within a single swipe and have a tiiiny hint of glitter, nothing that would look a bit much in the daylight. The colors are perfect if you want to take your look from subtle to dark without too much fuss.

All in all, I’d highly recommend this. I’d say that Forever 21 is actually trying to give ELF a run for their money with their excellent quality and unbeatable prices.

BEST PART=PRICE= $2.80

What do you guys think? Like the colors? Have you tried any Forever 21 makeup? Let me know in the comment below and make my day :D

Until next time, tc.
